Bessy

Bessy was our world traveler, from her first home outside Bern, Switzerland, to Ramstein Air Base, Germany, then California and Kansas, where she saved my daughter from a would-be attacker. In North Carolina, doctors said my wife's sister would have died from blood poisoning if Bessy had not alerted my wife to her sister's high fever.

Sadie

Sadie was the hit of our neighborhood, as the unofficial "Welcome Wagon," pulling her cart to deliver pastries to newcomers, and baked goods at Christmas. She would ring a doorbell when she wanted to come in, occasionally "punking" me by ringing the doorbell then running back into the yard to lie down and pretend to be asleep.

Glenna is the queen of the house and determines when it's time to eat, get treats or go outside. She has slowed down with age, lays downs and rests on shorter dog walks, but still loves a dog ride, even if it's around the block. She is truly an amazing girl and every day with her is a treasure!

KitKat

KitKat is a perfect Berner with an imperfect white stripe.
The Swiss say: 3 years a young dog, 3 years a good dog, 3 years an old dog. KitKat has been a good dog her whole life! She survived TPLO surgery and a nasal tumor with grace. At 11, her sweet spirit shines bright as ever. Born in Hungary, she found her home in NC — every day is a gift!

Sigmond is such a wonderfully sweet boy who absolutely loves his family. He has been and continues to be a great companion to me, and my adult kids. He still loves his daily morning walk and lounging around the house, and looks forward to his daily chewy treat!

Kolbi has a heart as big as her giant paws! Her favorite part of the day: the morning walk to coffee, where she gets a special treat! An avid hiker and lover of car rides, Kolbi has journeyed across the country with me four times, from Seattle to Charleston, then to San Antonio, back to Seattle and recently to Washington DC. Tova

Tova is my heart dog. I don't think it's possible to love her anymore than I do! She's smart, sassy and can be stubborn. One of the best things about having Tova in my life is the friends I've made in our Berner community. I cannot thank my long time friend and Tova's breeder - Suzanne Lusk for all the love and joy Tova has brought into my life.

Mosley

Mosley continues to be the Queen of the house. She is still very active, takes long walks, chases the other dogs, and plays in various dog sports for fun. At the 2026 BMDCA National Specialty she was the oldest qualifier in Herding, Rally and Draft. Her favorite thing in the world is treats especially cheeseburgers and bananas.
