Agile Berner Carving By Gale Werth
For those who are unfamiliar with the name “Gale Werth”, her “Broken Oaks Kennels” has had a tremendous impact on our breed. Her dogs figure prominently in a number of lines that are familiar to all of us today. One of her bitches went on to be the foundation bitch for the Dalleybecks line. Gail studied woodcarving with some master woodcarvers from Germany. When the BMDCA was asked to provide a piece, representative of the breed, to theAKC Dog Museum, they selected one of Gale Werth’s incomparable carvings. Her carvings are simple woodcarvings of various poses, yet they have been described as the most anatomically correct Berner art that you will ever see.

Painting “The Waltz of the Koi” by Robin Hamme
2026-18
The artist behind this beautiful painting, Robin Hamme, refuses to let an advanced case of macular degeneration keep her from doing what she loves. Robin’s art coach, Marley Rose Moreno-Hollifield, has helped Robin work around her very limited central vision and focus on her love of nature and vibrant color. Robin hopes the new forever owner of her painting brings them as much joy as she felt while painting it.
