Still enjoying life! Walks are shorter, but the appetite is still the same as ever!

Sweet Hubble- smart, loving, great with kids and babies, other dogs, cats, farm animals, even wild critters!... He has been our snuggle berner now for nearly 11 years and helped raise his berner buddies Luna and Newton. He learned to draft and "did" obedience, scent work, therapy dog, and rally-- but competitions were never his thing. For years he has helped teach lots of 4-H kids how to work with their dogs by serving as my demo dog. Hubble has the epitome of the perfect berner temperament and has been a wonderful ambassador for the breed! In September 2023 he was diagnosed with malignant melanoma so every moment now is especially precious. We hope he will still be with us when this is published in the Alpenhorn, but if not, he will always have a cherished spot in our hearts and that of our grandkids.

Aliz has always been a very special girl. My constant companion and full of surprises. She waited until her seventh breeding to produce puppies and then gave me some lovely puppies. Aliz is treated special but will quickly remind me if I don't feed her first. I love this matron of the house more than I can say!

Lana came to us as a retired show dog. She was often like a supermodel at a photo shoot, tossing her head and self-stacking perfectly! Such a love bug! Lana was a great travel companion and a super snuggler. We miss her so much!

Vasca is an awesome Therapy Dog who takes his pet therapy work very seriously; regardless of who he is visiting – a Hospice patient, children reading to him, folks in the hospital – he seems to understand that his job is to bring a calm and gentle healing manner about him so other humans can focus on healing. He has several titles – a Championship, Obedience, Rally, Drafting – but the one we are most proud of is his Therapy Dog work. He is known all over the Shenandoah Valley for his work with people and is the dog of choice when people are looking for a Therapy dog.He is now training a puppy in our house to be a therapy dog so he can continue his Therapy Berner love.

Firn leaps into everything with enormous enthusiasm and zest! She loves her walks in the woods and is a first-rate snuggler. She does not admit to being 10 years old, she still does agility every week -- it keeps her young and svelte. She is a loving joy, our Baby Bear!

Lola gets her call name from a Jimmy Buffett song called, "Frank and Lola on Their Second Honeymoon in Pensacola." She has her AKC Urban Dog and is a great Service Dog helping me with my balance. Thank you Sara Karl for making me such a healthy BMD.

Hope was loved deeply and spoiled rotten by Monica and her family. Hope loved being at the kids social functions. She was doing fine up till the last few weeks when she succumbed to cancer. you are deeply missed sweetie

Sarge is the first berner we have had the honor to be owned by for over ten years! Sarge is an amazing loving companion. He is a protector of his property. Loves car rides. Typical stubborn and quirky berner. ❤️🐾

Nelly and her sister Maddy came to us in July 2022 after their owner passed away. Unfortunately, Maddy wasn't with us very long. Nelly though is still going strong! She is the sweetest girl and loves to socialize. She is a star at all our Bernese mountain dog club meetings. At home, she loves to sit outside on the deck and listen to the birds. We love looking at Bernergarde and seeing her accomplishments when she was a younger girl. She is a originally from Italy, a Champion, and had a litter of 11 puppies! Wow! What a life she has had. We are very grateful to have Nelly for her senior years and thank everyone who helped make her adoption a reality!
