Host Hotel Waiting List Information
The Crowne Plaza & the Holiday Inn Express booked quickly for the 2008 National Specialty.
Those guests that requested the Crowne Plaza and were not able to be accommodated were put on a waiting–list & booked into the Holiday Inn Express.
The Crowne Plaza is managing the waiting–list. As rooms become available at the requested Crowne Plaza, guests on the mailing list will be moved into the Crowne & notified of their confirmation number. The Crowne will be responsible for canceling the guest's room at the Holiday Inn Express when they rebook a guest.
BMDCA rooms available ~ Hampton Inn
The BMDCA has a block of rooms available at the Hampton Inn in Warwick. The Hampton Inn is near the airport and minutes away from the show site. Special Show rate for double or king rooms at $109. plus local taxes. This BMDCA rate is only available until March 23, 2008.

If you are making reservations at the Hampton Inn or other hotels in the Warwick area & still want to be at either the Holiday Inn Express or Crowne Plaza, then you should call the Crowne Plaza directly: at 401-732-6000 and ask to be put on the BMDCA Dog Show waiting list.

Shuttle availability
The Crowne Plaza is providing a free shuttle service during the show starting on Monday at 7am to and from the Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn & Hampton Inn. Berners are invited to ride the shuttle.

Host Hotel Room Reservations ~ General Info
Hotel Reservation Policies
All reservations are made on an individual basis – one credit card per room. All reservations require a credit card guarantee. A 30% of total stay deposit is due January 30, 2008. No room will be reserved without a deposit. Persons that desire adjoining rooms need to send in their reservation forms by mail in the same envelope with a note stating this. The hotel will attempt to accommodate the request, based on availability.
INDIVIDUAL CANCELLATION POLICY:
- The following cancellation policy will be in effect for each individual guestroom reservation.
- Cancellations on or prior to February 29, 2008 will be processed without penalty.
- Cancellations occurring from March 1, 2008 to March 15, 2008 forfeit 33.3% (1/3) of deposit.
- Cancellations occurring from March 16, 2008 to March 23, 2008 forfeit 66.6% (2/3) of deposit.
- Cancellations occurring after March 23, 2008 shall result in forfeiture of the entire deposit.
- All cancellation forfeitures will be credited to the Crowne Plaza.
NOTE: If the "original guest" listed on the reservation form will no longer be the "responsible party" for final payment at check–out and a "replacement guest" is identified and placed on the same reservation, then the "original guest" will be credited his/her entire deposit less a $25 re–booking fee. The "replacement guest" will then be charged the deposit of 30% of total stay. The host hotel will retain the $25 re–booking fee and will mail cancellation and confirmation notices to the respective parties for their records. (The re–booking policy also applies to "wait–listed" guests transferred to the host hotel.)
SPECIAL NOTE: The host hotel will send written notification of all deadlines/important dates by email or U.S. Postal Service to each guest who has a confirmed reservation.
Upon check–in all guests will be required to leave a cash deposit or credit card guarantee to secure any incidental charges they may accrue. Check–in time is 3:00 p.m., and departures are required prior to the check–out time of 11:00 a.m. Early arrivals and late departures will be handled upon request, based on availability, and additional charges may apply. Our bell staff is happy to store luggage and personal equipment at no charge for early arrivals and late departures.

Host Hotel Etiquette & Policies
(Crowne Plaza ~ Holiday Inn Express ~ Hampton Inn)
1. HOTELS
The exhibitor assumes the entire responsibility & liability for losses, damages, and claims arising out of the exhibitor's activities on the hotel(s) premises and will indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Hotel(s) its agents, servants and employees from any and all such losses, damages and claims.
- ♦ Dogs are not allowed in the main lobby of the Crowne or any rooms in the hotels where food is being served. Dogs are not allowed in any of the recreation areas (swimming pool or video) of the Hotels.
- ♦ Exhibitors with dogs traveling thu the lobbies are asked to do so quickly & with purpose.
- ♦ Exhibitors traveling to & from the show site at the Crowne are asked to use the hotel’s designated “SHOW” entrance/exit when possible.
- ♦ Exercise areas will be clearly defined & the grounds committee will provide plastic bags, containers and scoops. Guests MUST pick-up after your dogs & any offenders not adhering to this policy will be reported to the show committee. A fine for not picking up after your dogs will be strictly enforced. Please use good judgment & plan your dogs exit & entrance to & from the hotels so they are not allowed or forced to use the landscaping around the main entrances.
2. GUEST ROOMS
- ♦ All unattended dogs in rooms must be crated.
- ♦ No more than 4 dogs are allowed to be crated in the rooms. (Notice ~ The Holiday Inn Express regular rooms are standard sized rooms ~ 2 crates for Dogs in the sleeping area would be comfortable.)
- ♦ Plastic sheeting will be provided by the Hotel at the time of check-in. Guests must protect carpeted areas by placing the plastic sheets under pens or crates. Any dog that causes excessive noise will receive one warning to remedy the situation. If the noise problem continues after the warning, the host hotel(s) management reserves the right to remove the offending dog & guest from the hotel(s).
- ♦ Please bring your own top sheet or blankets if you allow the dogs on the bed. The Crowne hotel will provide one linen sheet per bed that must be placed on the beds for any rooms occupied by dogs.
- ♦ Each guestroom occupied by dogs will be responsible for a non-refundable cleaning fee of $50. In case of damage however, your liability is not limited to the amount of the deposit.
Room Inspections
- ♦ Rooms in which daily housekeeping service has been declined will be reported to the show committee and will be inspected. Rooms will be inspected daily by the housekeeping staff for any damages and any potential problems will be reported to the BMDCA representatives.
- ♦ Please remember that AKC allows for disciplinary action against exhibitor who fail to take proper care of dog show sites & hotels.
- ♦ A Bench Show committee may be convened for any particular irresponsible action, including damage to the hotel and/or ignoring inspection request. Persons/guests involved in this hearing may be asked to leave the show.
Checkout
- ♦ Upon checkout the host Hotel(s) will assign Top Housekeeping staff to inspect rooms of guests accompanied by dogs. If severe damage to rooms were to occur, the offending guest(s) will be held responsible for all damages.
Grooming
- ♦ A grooming tent & outside bathing area will be available at the Crowne facility. Dogs must not be bathed or groomed in hotel rooms. Hotel towels must not be used for grooming your dogs. You are required to bring your own drying towels.
