2008 National Specialty Grooming Area Description
All AKC events and the grooming options are outdoors on the grounds of the Crowne Plaza Hotel.
Participants are encouraged to share grooming space.
2008 National Specialty Grooming Space may be reserved near the conformation ring in either of two locations.
♦ A. GROOMING TENT
Option 1 — Exhibitors may reserve an assigned 8′ x10′ space at $90 for the entire show period Monday 4/21 – Saturday 4/26
Option 2 — Exhibitors may also order space in the “common” grooming/drying area at $25 for the entire show period. There will be no crating in the “common” area. The show committee will provide dryers & a raised platform. It is the exhibitors’ responsibility to sign up at the show for a time– slot in the common area.
Grooming Tent Description:
- Grooming space will be available for move–in anytime after noon on Monday 4/21.
- The Grooming Tent will have side walls and be on grass.
- Exhibitors are reminded to bring their own floor mats.
- Exhibitors will need their own heavy gauge extension cords to hook up to main power provided by the show committee. Power will be provided 7am – 9 pm.
- Dogs must vacate the tent before 9 pm. Dogs may NOT stay in the tent overnight.
- NO generators are allowed in the grooming tent.
- Exhibitors may park temporarily in designated areas near the grooming tent to unload equipment & dogs.
♦ B. OUTDOOR PARKING SPACE
Exhibitors may reserve space for one vehicle at $90 for the entire show period.
There are no daily rates, and you may arrive any day of show.
Outdoor Parking Description:
- An outdoor parking space for Exhibitors & Handlers who work out of their van or truck is available for $90.
- Exhibitors are eligible to reserve a parking spot for one vehicle near the show ring. No daily rates are available. The space can be occupied any time after noon on Sunday April 20th.
- The reserved parking space is actually two regular parking spaces, and is on a blacktop parking surface. Exhibitors will need to provide their own power; generators must be shut down between 9 pm – 7 am.
- For safety of guests & Berners, IN–OUT traffic should be kept to a minimum.
Other information:
A designated area on the show grounds will be available for personal “pop–up” tents at no cost.
Dogs may not be left overnight in the personal–pop–up area.
The designated “pop–up” area for grooming will be on grass – and a considerable distance from the show ring. Personal generators will be allowed but must adhere to the 9 pm to 7 am shut down policy.
There is no grooming of dogs in the rooms of the host hotels.
A day crating tent will be available to registered guests at no charge for touch up grooming (no Power).
Absolutely no parking will be allowed on the Hotel’s grass except in the designated RV area.
No generators will be permitted in the grooming tent or within 100 feet of any show tent or ring.
As a courtesy, watchmen will be provided during the evening hours; however participants are encouraged to always use good judgment when leaving personal items or equipment unattended.
BMDCA and/or BMDCNV are not responsible for personal items or equipment left in the grooming area.
Washing stations will be available on the show grounds starting Monday 4/21 at noon.
By order of the town of Warwick: No generator operation will be allowed after 9 pm or before 7am. Therefore: ring times will be adjusted to accommodate exhibitors preparing their dogs for show.
