Berner U Offerings at the 2007 National Specialty

Welcome back to Berner University!

Berner-U Updates.

This is to clarify details regarding the Berner-U that are not clearly covered in the Planning Book.

1. The CGC/TDI with Michele LaBagh and Wendy Keene, 1-3 PM, is an opportunity to TEST your dog and NOT a preparation class to pass these tests.

There is an ADDITIONAL FEE for testing your dog for the Canine Good Citizen and the Therapy Dog International certificates. The fee for either one, the CGC or TDI test, = $20. The fee for BOTH CGC & TDI tests = $30.

You need to bring your dog's brush and your check book with you to the meeting room AFTER you have been notified by Colleen DiMarzio- Richards, Berner U registrar, you have been accepted to be tested. We will only be able to test about 20 dogs this year because of time and space constraints. DO NOT send any money into the central registrar.

2. Kevin and Shari Curran will be in Louisville, live with their dog, and not appearing on DVD as posted. We are very pleased to have them present their work on Animal Assisted Therapy.

3. Dr. Bell will be speaking Monday evening at 7 PM and there is NO CHARGE for attendance. We DO need a count of students to choose the size of the meeting room and to have enough chairs. If you plan to attend, please email Andrea Brin at andrea@petpathways.com

4. Dr. Bell has agreed to allow us to film his evening presentation. Whether or not you are attending the Symposium, would you be interested in purchasing a DVD? Please email andrea@petpathways.com so we can anticipate your order. Cost and availability of the DVD will be posted online after the Specialty.

5. Good news! Berners (well behaved, of course) are welcome in seminars and workshops so bring them along. Some workshops even require them as examples of conformation and behavior so be prepared to volunteer their services.

This year all our educational efforts will be concentrated on Monday of Specialty week. All the Berner U workshops will be held at the Executive Inn. We are pleased to present a faculty of experienced BMDCA members plus three distinguished guest lecturers. The day culminates with an exciting BMD Breed Health Symposium, co-sponsored by the Breeder Education Committee and BMDCA.

Complete descriptions for all classes and biographies of faculty members are at www.berneru.org.
